Innovations and Opportunities for UK Farmers and Growers
February 2026
CONFERENCE OVERVIEW
The Conference held at the beginning of February 2026 was a collaboration between Innovate UK Business Connect, Harper Adams University and Agricultural Plastics Environment (APE) UK.
The aim of the conference was to explore the challenges and opportunities in recycling agricultural and horticultural plastics through interactive workshops, expert insights, and collaborative discussion.
The event was designed for everyone involved in the agricultural plastics lifecycle. Whether you grow food, supply or work with agri-plastics, manage agricultural waste, provide advice to farmers and growers, or shape policy, your experience and insights are invaluable.
Join us to collaborate on improving agricultural plastics recycling practices in the UK. Drawing on both UK and international best practice, the event aims to bring together voices from across the entire farming and food production supply chain to drive a more sustainable future for UK agriculture.
Participating in the conference provided the opportunity to:
- Contribute to round-table discussions that will help shape future approaches and legislation for end-of-life agricultural plastics.
- Explore the current landscape of agricultural plastics recycling in the UK and abroad.
- Hear from organisations developing new strategies and initiatives to improve how the sector manages end-of-life materials.
- Discover emerging technologies and innovations that could boost the sustainability of farming in the years ahead.
- Play an active role in influencing the direction of a more circular and sustainable UK agricultural system.
